Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes
- Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow
- Manage medical records by filing, retrieving, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately
- Support clinic operations through clerical tasks such as data entry, typing, filing, and maintaining organized office supplies
Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience in a medical office environment or front desk role within a healthcare setting such as clinics or hospitals
- Strong knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance verification
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Chirotouch or similar platforms is helpful
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and appointment schedules
