As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into the role of the regular teacher, ensuring that students continue to receive quality instruction in their absence. This position is vital in maintaining the continuity of learning and providing a supportive atmosphere for students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons based on provided lesson plans while adapting to the needs of the students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
- Communicate clearly with students, staff, and administration regarding classroom activities and student progress.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education services.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all students.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and any incidents that occur during class time.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and staff.
- Background in early childhood education or special education is a plus.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to support diverse learners in the classroom.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
- A commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive educational experience for all students.
- Previous tutoring experience is beneficial but not required.
