Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Technician to join our Technician team. GM experience essential. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle makes and models, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with automotive diagnostics, and experience working with various vehicle systems including powertrains, electrical systems, transmissions, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using schematics, automotive diagnostic tools, and computer software to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems such as engines, transmissions, electrical components, and suspension.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Service and calibrate ADAS features including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems.
- Conduct wheel alignments and tire rotations to ensure vehicle safety and optimal handling.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Repair or replace components such as diesel engines, powertrain parts, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced in accordance with dealership or shop standards.
- Assist in auto estimating processes by providing accurate assessments of repair needs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or automotive service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- 2 Years Dealership experience
- Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrains, transmissions, diesel engines, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, schematics interpretation, and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair instruments.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
