Duties
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, courier vans, following designated routes to ensure prompt deliveries.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring items are secured properly for transit.
- Drive confidently and adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Verify delivery orders, check for accuracy, and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers.
- Manage route driving efficiently by planning the best paths to maximize productivity and minimize delays.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory checks, moving stock within the facility, and maintaining organized storage areas.
- Communicate professionally with customers upon arrival, answer questions about deliveries, and resolve any issues promptly.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance needs immediately.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a strong focus on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including loading/unloading goods and using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Valid driver’s license .
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Skilled in route driving with excellent navigation skills to optimize delivery schedules.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving large vehicles and handling freight securely.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members; dependable and punctual in all duties.
