Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, assist with product selection, and provide expert advice on baked goods and pastry options
- Prepare and assemble baked items, including pastry preparation, cake decorating, and food production tasks
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support high-volume baking and food preparation
- Package baked goods carefully to ensure freshness and presentation quality
- Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistent quality of baked products and pastries
- Support catering events by preparing baked goods and assisting with large-scale food production as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, baking, or pastry work within a high-volume environment
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and pastry tools
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
- Ability to perform basic math for portioning ingredients and managing inventory levels
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Experience in cake decorating or pastry decoration is a plus
- Capable of working efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
