Job Summary
IM YAK is seeking two energetic, creative, and charismatic Brand Ambassadors / On-Camera Hosts to become recurring personalities and recognizable faces of the IM YAK community and festival platform.
I’M YAK is a community-focused initiative built around uplifting and promoting creatives, artists, vendors, small businesses, entrepreneurs, events, and DMV culture. Our goal is to highlight the people and experiences that make the creative community special while creating entertaining, authentic, and engaging content.
This is a currently unpaid collaborative position for individuals who genuinely connect with the I’M YAK mission and are interested in helping build and grow the platform. We are looking for people with personality, initiative, curiosity, and the confidence to connect with new people both on camera and in person.
Duties
As an I’M YAK Brand Ambassador, you may:
- Serve as a recurring on-camera personality for I’M YAK content.
- Conduct interviews with artists, vendors, entrepreneurs, creatives, attendees, and small-business owners.
- Create behind-the-scenes content, vlogs, event recaps, vendor reviews, creative features, and other personality-driven social content.
- Attend I’M YAK events, community events, vendor pop-ups, creative gatherings, and other relevant activities to capture and participate in content.
- Build genuine relationships with artists, vendors, businesses, and members of the DMV creative community.
- Help promote upcoming I’M YAK events, initiatives, collaborations, featured creatives, and community opportunities.
- Engage with the I’M YAK audience through social media, including comments, questions, polls, DMs, and other community interactions when appropriate.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm new content concepts, interview ideas, recurring segments, and creative projects.
- Show initiative by identifying interesting creatives, businesses, vendors, events, or stories that could be featured on the platform.
- Help increase awareness of I’M YAK and strengthen its presence within the DMV creative community.
- Gather general community feedback and insights that may help improve future content, events, and initiatives.
This role is not centered around traditional product sales or product demonstrations. The focus is primarily on storytelling, community engagement, entertainment, and helping connect I’M YAK with interesting people and opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications
Previous experience is not required. We are more interested in finding people with the right personality, work ethic, and genuine interest in the initiative.
Ideal candidates should be:
- Comfortable speaking and appearing on camera.
- Outgoing, personable, curious, and able to hold conversations with new people.
- Reliable and able to represent the I’M YAK brand professionally.
- Familiar with platforms such as Instagram and TikTok and comfortable with short-form social media content.
- Interested in fashion, music, art, events, entrepreneurship, small businesses, and creative culture.
- Willing to contribute ideas rather than waiting for every assignment or direction.
- Comfortable attending events and interacting with members of the public.
Experience with public speaking, interviewing, hosting, modeling, acting, content creation, social media, retail, customer service, event marketing, or other public-facing work is a plus, but not required.

This is a currently unpaid collaborative position. We are specifically looking for individuals who are passionate about the I’M YAK mission and interested in growing alongside the platform.

As IM YAK grows through partnerships, sponsorships, events, and other opportunities, there may be potential for future paid work or compensation. Future compensation is not guaranteed and will depend on the growth of the platform and available opportunities.
