Overview:
This individual will have multiple roles. The main role will be as Ambiance’s field safety & compliance officer ensuring our teams are trained for and execute to Ambiance’s high safety and professional standards. As an element of engaging with the field operations, position will perform EMT & driver duties, rotating among crews to work hands-on with each member of the field staff over time. Additionally, this position will perform in-office dispatching and additional duties as needed to fully understand the operation.

Ambiance Transportation is a premier Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) company serving the Greater Los Angeles area. Our primary focus is providing safe, professional transportation for gurney-bound patients. We are seeking a dependable EMT who is looking for a unique hybrid role that combines dispatch operations, field support, employee training, and occasional fleet coordination.
This position is ideal for an experienced EMT who enjoys both office and field work and wants to play an important role in maintaining operational excellence and patient care standards.
Responsibilities
FIELD SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
· Keep training and on-boarding procedures up to date, working with office manager to ensure all employees are being trained appropriately, assisting with onboarding and training of new employees as necessary
· Conduct ride-alongs and evaluate EMTs and transport personnel as part of hiring process,
· Coordinate daily transportation schedules and communicate with facilities, hospitals, drivers, and crews
· Identify and implement improvements to field operations that lead to improved professionalism and safety (patient & crew)
· Ensure employees are adhering to Ambiance regulations and provide coaching and performance feedback to field staff, including “writing up” issues
· Help maintain company protocols, safety standards, and patient care expectations
· Perform EMT/attendant & driving duties when in field. Rotate among crews to obtain exposure to and provide feedback on all employees. The objective is to work with every field employee over a two-month period.
· Serve as an additional set of eyes on the quality and maintenance of physical assets required to perform transports (vehicles, wheelchairs, stair chairs, gurneys, transfer sheets, uniforms, etc.).
· Serve as a positive leader and resource for field personnel
DISPATCH
· Supplement dispatch operations approximately two days per week, closing on Sundays & Mondays (shifts end at 9PM)
· Coordinate crew deployment as needed to perform transport requirements.
· Communicate with facilities, hospitals, consumers, drivers, and crews on a variety of topics related to transports
· Support resolution of operational issues that arise during daily service
Qualifications
· Current California EMT certification required
· Previous ambulance, NEMT, or medical transportation experience required
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Comfortable working both in an office environment and in the field
· Experience with dispatching, scheduling, or operations coordination is a plus. Fast learner on computer-based systems a must.
· Experience training, mentoring, and evaluating employees professionally
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
· Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
· Reliable, professional, and self-motivated

The ideal candidate is an experienced EMT who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wishes to expand their knowledge of the medical transportation space. This individual will be equally comfortable (i) leading and disciplining field crews while working with and among them, (ii) screening and training new employees, (iii) scheduling and meeting complex dispatch scenarios, (iv) dealing with customers on delicate issues, and (v) helping ensure our operations run smoothly. We are looking for someone who can become a key member of our leadership team and help us continue providing exceptional service to our patients and healthcare partners.
Compensation
· Competitive pay based on experience [$21.00-$23.00 per hour]
· Schedule will be as follows:
o Su 10:00 – 18:00
o Mo 13:00 – 21:00
o Tu, We, Th Fr, Sa (3 of these days, variable start times, 8 hour days)
