Duties
- Use state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle malfunctions and system errors.
- Perform comprehensive inspections of engine, transmission, brakes, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
- Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and data to determine root causes of issues.
- Conduct repairs, replacements, and adjustments based on diagnostic findings to restore optimal vehicle performance.
- Collaborate with service advisors to communicate findings clearly and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each vehicle.
- Stay current with the latest automotive technologies, tools, and industry best practices through ongoing training.
Experience
- Proven experience as an automotive technician with a focus on diagnostics and electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic scanners, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other specialized tools.
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, engine control units (ECUs), sensors, and actuators.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data quickly and accurately.
- Certification from recognized industry organizations (e.g., ASE Certification) is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience working with hybrid or electric vehicles is a plus.
