Full-Time | $25.00–$29.00 per hour
Position Summary
Our client, a well-established residential home builder in Sanford, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their growing team. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is ideal for a bookkeeping professional with experience in the construction or residential real estate industry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Process invoices, billing, payments, and customer/vendor accounts
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
- Ensure accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare financial reports and account summaries
- Support payroll processing and related documentation as needed
- Review financial records, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly
- Work closely with the CFO to support the company's day-to-day accounting operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of recent bookkeeping experience required
- Construction or residential real estate industry experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks required
- Strong knowledge of:
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- General Ledger maintenance
- Journal entries
- Billing and invoicing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
