Position Summary
The Front Desk Clerk is responsible for overseeing all front desk operations and delivering a consistently excellent member experience. This role manages front desk staff, schedules coverage, ensures accurate daily operations, and serves as a key point of contact for members, staff, and management. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, service-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Member Experience & Service
- Serve as the primary ambassador of the club at the front desk
- Ensure a warm, professional, and consistent welcome for all members and guests
- Handle member questions, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally
- Escalate member concerns to management when appropriate and follow through on resolution
Front Desk Operations
- Oversee daily front desk operations including check-ins, reservations, phone/email inquiries, and point-of-sale transactions
- Ensure accuracy in member accounts, guest charges, and daily financial reconciliation
- Maintain front desk procedures, policies, and service standards
- Monitor traffic flow and proactively adjust staffing and processes
Staff Management
- Conduct onboarding and ongoing training to maintain service standards
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
Administrative & Systems Support
- Utilize club management software for reservations, billing, and reporting
- Assist with basic reporting, payroll tracking, and administrative tasks
- Coordinate closely with Tennis, Fitness, Aquatics, and Maintenance departments
- Support special events, programs, and seasonal initiatives
Facilities & Safety Awareness
- Maintain awareness of facility conditions and report issues promptly
- Ensure front desk compliance with safety, security, and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in a customer service, hospitality, or front desk leadership role
- Prior management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a private club, fitness center, hotel, or hospitality setting is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficient with basic technology (email, scheduling systems, spreadsheets)
Schedule Requirements
- Availability for evenings, and weekends required
