American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position at a hospital in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active MI RN license.

Work in a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes general medical, gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological, orthopedic/neurovascular, and cardio/pulmonary cases
-
Specialties include GI surgeries, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30), with 36 or 48-hour weeks available

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6; ratios may flex to 1:8, with LPN support provided
-
Every other weekend required

Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically once per week based on unit needs
-
Works alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs

Active MI RN license required (pending license acceptable with ETA provided)

Current BLS certification (AHA) required (pending acceptable with confirmation of intent to obtain)

Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred

Availability required for the full first two weeks of orientation

Holiday coverage is required; any requested time off during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs

Block scheduling is not available at this time

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
