Summary:
Repairs, maintains and confirms machinery and mechanical equipment in the production area and occasionally the facility such as motors, pumps, pneumatic equipment and components, conveyor systems, robots, production machines and other equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Confirms equipment is operating as intended and producing quality parts.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Repairs electrical equipment.
Uses electrical and machine drawings, blueprints, machine manuals and notes for proper machine information.
Complies with all applicable policies and procedures as required by American Mitsuba’s Quality and Environmental systems.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Must have a good attendance and work performance record.
Has a sense of urgency to quickly bring manufacturing equipment back online safely.
Able to work long hours including weekends as needed.
Able to travel as needed, including short trip and/or overnight trips to workshops and seminars.
Possess an open-mindedness and willingness to cooperate, learn and work within a multi-cultural team environment.
Possess a problem-solving mentality using tact and diplomacy; has a positive attitude, cooperative and flexible attitude; is a self-motivator and able to take initiative.

Self-motivated to work on immediate problems, then switch to TPM, rebuilds and other maintenance when no line calls are required.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The safety of you and others are your responsibility when working as a machine maintenance associate.
