You are a detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong experience working in Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) and a passion for transforming complex data into meaningful insights. You have a proven ability to analyze large datasets, ensure data integrity, and develop reports and dashboards that support strategic decision-making, operational performance, and program outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment where your analytical skills help leadership, program teams, and stakeholders make informed, data-driven decisions.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in HMIS reporting, SQL, Excel, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau to identify trends, monitor key performance indicators, and produce accurate recurring and ad hoc reports. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and able to communicate complex data in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. This is a hybrid opportunity with remote flexibility and occasional in-office meetings in Sacramento.
Compensation: $32-$48/hr
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, performance metrics, and business insights.
- Build, maintain, and improve dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership and stakeholders.
- Respond to data requests with accurate, timely, and actionable information.
- Monitor data quality, validate reporting accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support reporting, planning, and business initiatives.
- Present findings in a clear and concise manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document reporting processes, data definitions, and analytical methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
