A leading publicly traded organization is seeking a Director – Accounting Strategy to join its accounting organization. This is a high-visibility opportunity focused on technical accounting, strategic transactions, and complex accounting matters.
- Lead technical accounting analysis for complex transactions, investments, and other strategic initiatives.
- Research US GAAP and SEC requirements and prepare technical accounting memos, policies, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and other internal stakeholders on accounting considerations and business initiatives.
- Support SEC reporting and related disclosure requirements.
- Assist with acquisition integration and other strategic accounting projects.
- Monitor new accounting guidance and evaluate its impact on the organization.
- Support the company’s SOX and internal control environment.
- Communicate technical accounting conclusions and recommendations to senior financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- CPA required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Big 4 experience required.
- Strong technical accounting and US GAAP knowledge.
- Experience with SEC reporting and public-company accounting.
- Background in Technical Accounting/National Office, Capital Markets, transactional advisory, or complex large-cap audit strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
- SOX/internal controls experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
