We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Pest Control Route Technician to support our commercial and utility pest control operations.
Position Summary
The Pest Control Route Technician is responsible for performing pest control services at commercial, utility, and non-residential job sites. This position performs inspections, treatments, exclusion work, baiting, trapping, burrow management, cleanup, documentation, and customer communication in accordance with company procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
This is a field-based position that requires independent work, strong communication, attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism when working around client sites, utility facilities, substations, industrial locations, and public-facing environments.
Responsibilities
Perform pest control inspections and services at assigned customer locations.
Apply approved pest control materials in accordance with label requirements, safety procedures, and applicable laws.
Install, monitor, and service bait stations, traps, exclusion materials, and other pest control equipment.
Identify pest activity, entry points, sanitation issues, harborage areas, and corrective action needs.
Complete exterior and interior pest control services as assigned.
Perform rodent control, burrow blocking, exclusion, cleanup, and related service work.
Respond to customer concerns, callbacks, and urgent service needs with professionalism and urgency.
Communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, and internal team members.
Complete required service reports, inspection notes, photos, and documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain assigned company vehicle, tools, equipment, PPE, and materials in clean and working condition.
Follow all company safety policies, site-specific requirements, traffic control rules, and client access procedures.
Travel to various job sites, including overnight travel when required.
Represent Sierra Integrated Services Inc. professionally at all times.
Qualifications
Prior pest control, route technician, landscaping, vegetation management, utility, facilities, or field service experience preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain required pest control licensing or registration.
SPCB Applicator License or Field Representative License preferred.
Branch 2 experience preferred but not required.
Valid California driver’s license required.
Clean driving record required for operation of company vehicles.
Ability to pass a job-related background check, motor vehicle record review, and pre-employment drug screen, consistent with applicable law.
Ability to work independently and manage a daily route or assigned work list.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to use a phone, tablet, app-based reporting system, GPS, and email.
Ability to read and follow pesticide labels, safety data sheets, written procedures, and client instructions.
Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, lift, carry, and work around uneven terrain.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, eye protection, respirators when required, and other job-specific equipment.
Must be able to safely operate company vehicles and work around active job sites, facilities, and utility environments.
Schedule
Full-time position.
Schedule may vary based on customer needs, route assignments, emergency calls, and travel requirements.
Occasional overtime and overnight travel may be required.
