Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and maintaining a clean dining environment.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy items such as large pots or crates of supplies.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all kitchen areas, adhering to kitchen health and safety standards.
- Assist with food safety management practices to ensure compliance with local health regulations.
Qualifications
- Prior food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential!
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation procedures, and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or cleaning tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting the culinary team.
