Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Process payroll and handle accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
- Maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational standards
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow reports, and budget analysis to support management decision-making
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements, tax filings, and audit preparations as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with familiarity in bookkeeping practices and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or comparable software
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation procedures
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is highly desirable
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report writing
- Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation processes
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks accurately under deadlines
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external auditors or vendors
