American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Inpatient Overflow unit in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a valid IL RN license.

Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting

Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Weekend shifts required as needed

Holiday coverage required as needed

No floating requirements

Uses Epic EMR

Candidates must undergo a leader interview as part of the selection process

Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
-
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
-
Current ACLS certification (AHA)
-
Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
-
ASN required; BSN preferred
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Level 1 Trauma experience required

Responsibilities include conducting bedside shift reports, patient assessments, care plan development and modification, medication administration, and patient education

Delegates and validates care tasks to assigned healthcare technicians throughout the shift

Focuses on patient safety priorities including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation compliance, and safe ambulation

Manages time-sensitive admission and discharge processes, particularly for Observation status patients

RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Travelers who have been on assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any Carle Health facility
