The QUALITY SUPERVISOR is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Department, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, food safety standards, and quality management systems. This role provides direct supervision of quality personnel, coordinates departmental activities, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the primary escalation point for day-to-day quality issues.
Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise quality assurance, quality control, laboratory and document control personnel.
- Coordinates and prioritizes daily departmental activities to ensure adequate coverage in all areas and supports quality needs related to production.
- Acts at the primary escalation point for day-to-day quality issues and escalates significant quality, regulatory, or food safety concerns to the Senior Quality Manager.
- Review and approve quality records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ensure timely disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
- Monitor, approve and drive timely completion of deviations, investigations, CAPAs, customer complaints, DMRs, change controls and internal audits.
- Analyze quality trends and performance metrics to assist with development and monitoring of departmental KPIs.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports to support various quality projects and initiatives.
- Support compliance with applicable regulatory and certification requirements including SQF, HACCP, PCQI. GMP, and FDA regulations.
- Assist in facilitating plant and food safety, GMP, and quality audits according to program. Including visits from customers, third parties, the FDA, and state and local regulators.
- Responsible for the implementation and commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Management to support business needs.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Quality/Regulatory or a related field.
- 4-5 years’ experience in Quality, preferably in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food science industry.
- Proficient technical writing skills required.
- Must be well organized and capable of managing time-related task with a high attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing practices.
- Strong communication, organization, problem solving, and analytical skills required
