We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Childcare Provider to join our after-school program team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children after school hours. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children in accordance with EEC regulations and center policies
- Plan, implement, and lead age-appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios as required by EEC
- Support positive behavior guidance and model appropriate interactions
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families, staff, and supervisors
- Observe, document, and report children’s progress, behavior, and any concerns
- Assist with daily routines including arrival/dismissal, meals/snacks, transitions, and outdoor play
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets health and safety standards
- Follow all procedures related to mandated reporting, emergency preparedness, and incident documentation
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and required professional development
- Support and collaborate with assistant teachers and float staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Must meet Massachusetts EEC requirements for Group Leader
- Valid EEC Group Leader certification (Infant/Toddler and/or Preschool or School Age)
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred) or enough working experience under EEC
- Prior experience working with children in a licensed early childhood or school-age program
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass CORI, SORI, and DCF background checks
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage a group of children and maintain a positive learning environment
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
