Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Summer Youth Workers to join our team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with children in a dynamic environment, supporting their development through engaging activities and tailored interventions. The ideal candidate will be energetic, responsible, and passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives during the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing developmental activities and programs designed to promote childhood growth and learning.
- Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a safe and nurturing environment.
- Engage children in recreational activities such as sports coaching, arts, theater, and other creative pursuits.
- Provide supervision during outings, camp activities, and daily routines to ensure safety at all times.
- Collaborate with licensed therapists and educators to support individualized plans for children with special needs or developmental delays.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity space while adhering to health and safety protocols including first aid procedures.
- Foster positive relationships with children by demonstrating patience, encouragement, and active engagement.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or recreational settings. Prior experience in classroom management or behavior management is highly valued. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, special education practices, or childhood development will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Certifications such as first aid or child CPR are mandatory; training will be provided. Applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for working with youth in diverse environments such as daycare centers, summer camps, tutoring programs, or babysitting roles. Experience working with children who have special needs or require additional support is considered an asset.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
