Position Title: Engineering Manager Reports to: Director of Operations

Position Summary
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and integrating a multidisciplinary engineering organization across facilities in Triadelphia, WV, and Fort Worth, TX. This position provides strategic and day-to-day leadership to engineering resources supporting aerospace tooling, composite manufacturing, flyaway aerospace structures, and CFOAM production.
The Engineering Manager will develop a unified engineering organization by implementing best practices from both locations, standardizing engineering processes, and fostering collaboration across teams. This role serves as the primary engineering leader responsible for manufacturing support, customer technical communication, engineering quality, project execution, and continuous improvement while ensuring engineering resources are effectively aligned with business priorities.

- Lead and integrate multidisciplinary engineering teams across the Triadelphia, WV and Fort Worth, TX facilities into a cohesive, high-performing organization.
- Maintain the flexibility and availability expected of a leadership role to support operations across both sites outside of normal business hours when necessary. Responsibilities may include participating in virtual meetings, providing on-site support for off-shift production, responding to critical operational issues, and working occasional evenings or weekends to ensure safe, efficient, and successful operations.
- Establish standardized engineering processes, procedures, documentation, and best practices across both locations.
- Foster a collaborative culture that encourages knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and cross-site teamwork.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineering personnel.
- Build engineering capabilities that support current operations while preparing the organization for future growth.
- Balance engineering workloads across both facilities and bridge resource gaps to ensure uninterrupted support of manufacturing operations.
- Review engineering work products for technical accuracy, completeness, and quality before release to customers or management.
- Establish engineering priorities that align with production schedules and business objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and implement engineering policies, engineering procedures, engineering work instructions, and standards supporting aerospace manufacturing, tooling production, and CFOAM manufacturing.
- Work closely with Production Managers and Operations Leadership to provide timely engineering support for manufacturing.
- Assist in manufacturing process improvements focused on quality, throughput, cost reduction, and efficiency.
- Coordinate engineering resources to rapidly resolve production issues and minimize manufacturing downtime.
- Partner with Maintenance to provide engineering support for equipment improvements, installations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Oversee all engineering-related customer communication, including:
- Technical discussions
- Program schedules
- Design reviews
- Engineering change management
- Technical issue resolution
- Final quality documentation packages
- Engineering deliverables
- Ensure customers receive proactive, accurate, and routine technical updates.
- Recommend investments in equipment, software, training, and engineering tools to improve organizational capability.
- Develop metrics and provide routine engineering status reports to senior management regarding:
- Project status
- Manufacturing support
- Engineering workload
- Identify staffing requirements and participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding engineering personnel.
- Support technical concepts, estimating, proposal reviews, and customer scope clarification during the opportunity-development phase.
- Regular travel between the Triadelphia, WV and Fort Worth, TX facilities (approximately 10–15%) to maintain alignment, support operations, and strengthen collaboration between engineering teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Composite Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in aerospace manufacturing, composite manufacturing, tooling, or a related industry.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of engineering leadership or engineering management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aerospace composite manufacturing, composite tooling design and production, and manufacturing engineering principles.
- Proficiency with CAD software; experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, and/or Siemens NX is preferred.
- Experience working within an AS9100-compliant quality management system.
- Demonstrated leadership, team-building, mentoring, and personnel-development skills.
- Strong technical concepts, estimating, proposal reviews, and customer scope clarification during the opportunity-development phase.
- Must be eligible to access information and participate in programs subject to applicable U.S. export-control and ITAR requirements.
- Ability to understand and communicate in spoken and written English sufficient to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and quality documentation.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
