Overview
As part of the Dixon Elevator Grain Elevator Operations Team become a vital part of the agricultural supply chain! In this role, you will oversee the safe and efficient handling of grain, feed and other agricultural commodities at our grain elevator facility. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations, maintain safety standards, and support the vital process of food production and farming. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment, operate commercial vehicles, and contribute to the food processing industry with a focus on agriculture, livestock and manufacturing.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as Feed Trucks, tractors, augers, conveyors, loaders, and forklifts to move grain and feed materials safely within the facility
- Manage the loading and unloading of grain trucks, and other delivery vehicles in compliance with safety protocols
- Monitor grain levels, quality, and storage conditions through routine inspections and mechanical checks
- Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance logs
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
- Assist with maintenance tasks on machinery, including troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing basic repairs
- Support food processing activities by ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and proper handling of products in accordance with industry standards
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or augers and conveyor systems
- Prior experience in manufacturing, farming, or agriculture environments preferred
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is highly desirable for driving transport vehicles
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently; certification is a plus
- Familiarity with farming practices or agricultural operations enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Able to communicate in a professional manner with customers and other employees
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time and identify issues that need attention.
- Strong attention to safety protocols, mechanical troubleshooting skills, and physical stamina for demanding work tasks
- High School or GED Diploma
- Must be licensed and insurable to drive
