Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure consistency across all accounts
- Prepare and process journal entries, including debits & credits, for various financial transactions
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify account accuracy
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax compliance requirements
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate or non-profit sectors
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar tools
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
- Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is advantageous
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration with team members
