We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs.
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance procedures clearly, providing detailed estimates and timelines.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, alignments, suspension work, and transmission repairs.
- Upsell additional services by identifying customer needs for services like auto diagnostics, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, diesel engine repairs, or auto body repairs.
- Manage service writing duties accurately by documenting vehicle issues, repair plans, parts used, and labor performed in the dealership’s system.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Maintain strong knowledge of automotive repair processes including air brake systems, automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and auto estimating to provide expert guidance.
- Foster excellent customer relationships through proactive communication about vehicle status updates and service recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and dealership policies throughout all interactions.
Experience
- Previous dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with auto service management is a strong asset.
- Proven success in upselling automotive services while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Hands-on mechanic experience or background in automotive diagnostics enhances your ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Knowledge of automotive repair specialties such as transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignment, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, diesel engine repair, or auto body repair is advantageous.
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing systems is desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to clients.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while providing excellent service during busy periods.
