Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely while applying cleaning solutions for sanitation and stain removal, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed for cleaning or maintenance purposes.
- Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting designated areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Operate custodial equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and other cleaning tools efficiently and safely.
- Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs or painting projects to uphold the overall condition of the premises.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning operations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning practices preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts.
