Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure effective sanitation without risk
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move furniture, supplies, or equipment safely, adhering to safe lifting practices
- Maintain cleanliness standards by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces regularly
- Operate various cleaning tools and machinery including floor buffers, vacuums, and industrial cleaning equipment to ensure optimal results
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning agents while maintaining inventory records
- Follow all safety protocols during cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or injuries and ensure compliance with health regulations
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with commercial or industrial cleaning techniques is advantageous
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions accurately
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods while maintaining safety standards
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with clients or building occupants when needed
