Medical Biller / Claims Denial Specialist (Pediatric Practice)

Key Responsibilities
- Submit, track, and manage insurance claims accurately and efficiently
- Identify, analyze, and resolve claim denials and rejections in a timely manner
- Work denied claims from start to resolution, including appeals and follow-ups
- Ensure proper use of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for pediatric therapy services
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility as needed
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and discrepancies
- Monitor accounts receivable and maintain strong follow-up on outstanding balances
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and billing
- Maintain compliance with all healthcare billing regulations and payer requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in a healthcare or pediatric setting
- Strong experience with claims management and denial resolution (REQUIRED)
- Solid understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicaid, and managed care plans
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of claims
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in speech therapy, occupational therapy, or pediatric billing
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and billing software
- Knowledge of payer-specific guidelines and appeals processes
