Position Summary
Premium Properties is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who is looking to build a long-term career and grow into a Staff Accountant role.
The Accounting Assistant will provide administrative and accounting support to the accounting department while assisting with daily financial operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, enjoys working with numbers, and has excellent attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting experience.
- 1-2 years of accounting or accounting support experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheet management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform accurate data entry into accounting systems.
- Scan, organize, and electronically file invoices, receipts, and accounting documents.
- Process incoming mail and distribute correspondence.
- Prepare remote bank deposits by scanning checks.
- Make collection calls and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized accounting records and digital files.
- Support month-end closing activities.
- Assist with filing, document management, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Bonuses paid three times per year based on your contributions to the team and company goals.
- Comprehensive Gold coverage for you with health, currently through Kaiser, as well as Vision Coverage through Humana, with Premium Properties paying 90% of the premium. Spouses and additional dependents may be added at an additional cost.
