General Summary
The Clinical manager is responsible for management of the clinical team of a private practice, and ensuring efficient, effective patient care. The Clinical manager operates as a vital part of the clinical team, providing guidance and support to clinical staff.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversees daily activities of clinical staff. Train and coach team members and work with management and practice providers to improve patient service and operational efficiency. This role combines leadership with direct patient interaction, requiring strong communication, organizational, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as a positive role model for clinical team members by promoting efficiency, quality, teamwork, cooperation and open communication.
- Provide guidance and direction to the Clinical team in a supportive and professional manner and contributes to the evaluation of team members' performance.
- Provide orientation, training and coaching for Clinical staff, ensuring that all staff meet their job requirements and job competencies.
- Offer ongoing education and skill development opportunities.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring process for clinical staff.
- Assists with coordinating services, prioritizing assignments and workflow and promoting situational decision-making/problem solving.
- Manage clinical schedules in coordination with Practice Manager ensuring appropriate coverage at each location for optimal support of physicians.
- Ensure clinical triage support is provided effectively and by appropriately trained staff.
- Provide cross-training for clinical team including access to all practice systems, software and third-party products utilized for patient care and management.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient medical records, and coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Serve as a point of contact between management and the clinical team.
- Maintain proper inventory management and supply ordering, including management of medication and sample inventory according to practice and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular meetings with clinical staff for optimal communication of practice policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient flow and communicate delays to patients and physicians.
- Ensure compliance with practice policies and procedures, and maintain a high standard of patient care.
- Follow infection control protocols and procedures.
- Adhere to regulations and policies related to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and other relevant standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, Associates or higher degree preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Previous clinical experience
Physical Requirements
- Working conditions are normal for a clinical environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate keyboard, telephone & other equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases common to a clinic environment
- Work location: In person, clinical setting (Central and North)
