Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support the smooth operation of our dental practice. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure a safe, sterile environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your clinical skills while making a positive impact on patients’ oral health.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality policies.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems)such as Dentrix ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
- Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Support patient management through scheduling appointments using patient management software and coordinating follow-up care.
- Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and dental instruments processing to ensure optimal functionality.
- Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards in all aspects of clinical assisting.
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, and other specialties.
- Experience with dental x-ray techniques like Nomad and medical imaging such as CBCT to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Familiarity with dental equipment operation including sterilization tools, 3D scanners, and other clinical devices.
- Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining strict infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to coordinate patient flow smoothly while providing exceptional customer service.
- Understanding of healthcare infection prevention protocols including aseptic technique and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care and the ability to document accurately within electronic health records systems.
