Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Veterinary Technician/Assistant Manager to join our passionate veterinary team. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Assist veterinarians with complex surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, animal restraint, and surgical assistance
- Perform advanced animal handling techniques, including IV insertion, vascular access, and catheterization for various species including dogs, cats, and equines
- Conduct laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and radiology diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses
- Manage diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray and radiology diagnostics while ensuring proper aseptic technique
- Oversee pet care routines including animal husbandry, grooming, feeding, and pet grooming to maintain optimal health standards
- Ensure compliance with veterinary safety protocols, critical & intensive care procedures, and emergency medicine protocols during urgent situations
- Maintain accurate veterinary software records for patient histories, treatment plans, medication administration, and client communication
- Train staff on veterinary terminology, medical equipment operation, anesthesia monitoring, and veterinary procedure assistance
- Support client communication by explaining pet care instructions clearly and compassionately
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a veterinary technician or in a similar veterinary support role with leadership responsibilities
- Extensive kennel experience combined with knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology
- Strong background in dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental care
- Demonstrated expertise in animal restraint techniques, laboratory work (including phlebotomy), anesthesia monitoring (including general anesthesia), and emergency medicine
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems and diagnostic radiology equipment
- Ability to handle diverse animals confidently using dog handling skills and animal husbandry techniques
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Certification or experience in equine care is a plus; additional skills in pet grooming or dog training are beneficial
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of aseptic technique and safety protocols in all procedures

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
