Job Overview
Our client, a leader in the marine and boating industry and known for being one of the best and most sought after places to work in Northern Indiana, is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain and repair our facility and equipment.
This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to a safe work environment. Facilities Technicians come in two levels, I and II, based on skills, certifications, and education. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused setting and support the company's values and leadership expectations.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems, and provide accurate repair estimates
- Execute repairs and troubleshoot issues related to equipment, machinery, and building structures
- Maintain and repair welders, hand and power tools, hoists, saws, and other equipment; keep tools organized and in good condition
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies; maintain clear records of work performed
- Collaborate with other departments to address facility-related needs and assist in setting up workspaces and moving equipment or furniture
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping as needed; conduct preventative maintenance per procedures or manufacturer recommendations
- Track and log required daily/weekly/annual inspections and maintain a neat, organized work area
- Support a safe work culture by following safety rules and proactively mitigating risks
Requirements
- 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred, industrial facility experience a plus
- Knowledge of single-phase electrical systems; three-phase knowledge is a plus
- Valid driver’s license; ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, standing, bending, climbing, etc.)
- Experience with welding and fabricating equipment is a plus; basic/advanced construction knowledge is beneficial
- Good verbal and written communication skills; self-starter who can multi-task and stay calm under pressure
- Basic Microsoft Office skills; ability to maintain accurate maintenance records
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed; team-oriented and focused on safety
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
