Duties
- Prepare and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedural law requirements
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Manage case files using document management systems like trial works and maintaining meticulous records of all case activities and correspondence
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent case information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trial by reviewing documents, creating timelines, and summarizing evidence
- Coordinate with insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties involved in personal injury claims to facilitate smooth communication and case progression
- Support litigation processes by reviewing documents for relevance, accuracy, and completeness while adhering to procedural law standards
Skills
- Extensive experience with personal injury law cases and legal support functions
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, civil litigation support, and document review procedures
- Skilled in legal drafting, writing reports, proofreading documents, and preparing litigation materials
- Familiarity with case management software and document management systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Effective client communication skills with professional phone etiquette and empathetic listening abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of accuracy in data entry and filing tasks
- Strong research skills combined with a keen eye for detail, capable of transcribing interviews or court proceedings accurately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data management
