Property Management Accountant (Part-Time)

Myunits.com is a boutique real estate company specializing in apartment leasing, property management, and multifamily sales throughout Los Angeles. We currently manage approximately 350 apartment units and are building the systems and team to scale significantly over the coming years.
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating order, staying organized, taking ownership, and helping build a great accounting department.
Role Focus
This role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable and day-to-day property management accounting, including:
- Coordinate with our Property Management team to collect, review, and process vendor invoices
- Enter and organize invoices in AppFolio
- Proactively follow up with Property Managers to obtain approvals and confirm work is complete
- Process vendor payments and help ensure invoices are paid promptly
- Manage vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and vendor records
- Coordinate utility account setup, transfers, recurring billing, and utility-related accounting
- Assist with RUBS billing, submeter bill-backs, and tenant/owner utility allocations
- Process employee reimbursements for approved property expenses
- Track Amazon, Home Depot, and other property-related purchases, receipts, and reimbursements
- Assist with bank reconciliations, owner statements, month-end accounting, and security deposit accounting
- Maintain accurate, organized accounting records and continuously look for ways to improve efficiency
As the company grows, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow within the accounting team.
What We're Looking For
- Local to Los Angeles/SFV areas
- Property management accounting or bookkeeping experience
- AppFolio experience strongly preferred
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a remote team
- Proactive, persistent, and willing to follow through until things get done

Compensation & Hours
- Approximately 20-30 hours per week
- $30/hour
- Flexible remote schedule; must be availability during normal business hours for real time team collaboration
