A leading sheet metal fabrication and precision manufacturing company in Peabody, MA is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join its growing team. This is a direct hire opportunity for candidates with experience inspecting machined metal components, reading engineering drawings, and performing dimensional inspections in a manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for individuals with backgrounds in precision machining, aerospace manufacturing, metal fabrication, or mechanical assembly who are comfortable working with tight tolerances and precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections of precision-machined metal components and assemblies
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Conduct dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with customer and engineering requirements
- Complete inspection reports and maintain quality records
- Identify and document non-conforming materials and products
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities
- Assist with ISO quality compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with production, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a precision manufacturing, CNC machining, metal fabrication, or mechanical assembly environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience performing dimensional inspections on machined or fabricated components
- Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Stable work history and strong attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inspecting CNC-machined components
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
- ISO 9001 manufacturing environment experience
- Experience working with tight-tolerance components
- Forklift certification or material handling experience
