Commercial Construction Project Lead
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Lead to oversee the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field coordination, safety expectations, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead day-to-day project execution for commercial construction projects, including scheduling, coordination, documentation, and closeout.
· Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal teams to keep work moving efficiently.
· Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
· Monitor jobsite progress, identify risks early, and resolve issues that may affect quality, safety, cost, or schedule.
· Support procurement of materials, equipment, permits, and subcontractor services as needed.
· Conduct or participate in project meetings and provide clear updates to leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
· Ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, applicable building codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
· Promote a strong safety culture and support field teams in maintaining clean, organized, and compliant jobsites.
· Review subcontractor performance, verify completed work, and help ensure timely project billing and payment processes.
· Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranties, owner turnover, and final documentation.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, project engineering, superintendent, or lead field coordination roles.
· Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, budgets, and jobsite operations.
· Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to completion.
· Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, document control platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
· Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
· Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, building codes, permitting processes, and quality control standards.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Background check and drug testing required.
Preferred Experience
· Experience leading tenant improvements, ground-up commercial builds, retail, office, healthcare, industrial, education, or mixed-use projects.
· Familiarity with estimating, buyout, value engineering, and subcontractor bid reviews.
· OSHA 30 certification, PMP certification, or construction-related professional credentials.
Pay: $59,037.03 - $71,098.36 per year
