The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, developing high-performing teams, and achieving financial goals. This hands-on leader oversees daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, safety, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and team members to build a strong, guest-focused culture.
- Deliver an outstanding dining experience through exceptional service and consistent execution of the teppanyaki experience.
- Manage restaurant financial performance, including sales, labor, food and beverage costs, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, food safety regulations, and health department requirements.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain top talent while fostering employee engagement and accountability.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, maintenance, and operational excellence.
- Analyze business trends and implement strategies to increase sales, improve efficiency, and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Partner with culinary leadership to ensure consistent execution of menu items and chef performance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Restaurant General Management experience, including at least 2 years as a Teppanyaki General Manager
- High-volume full-service restaurant experience required; Japanese steakhouse or upscale casual experience preferred.
- Proven success managing P&L, labor, food costs, and inventory.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Passion for hospitality, team development, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
