Position Summary
The Weekend General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, and guest areas to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. This role performs preventive maintenance, responds to guest and staff maintenance requests, and assists with repairs while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests.
- Perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting issues.
- Inspect guest rooms, hallways, common areas, and exterior grounds for maintenance needs.
- Replace light bulbs, filters, batteries, and other routine maintenance items.
- Maintain and program hotel door key system
- Maintain swimming pool, spa, and other amenities as assigned (if applicable).
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance storage areas in an organized condition.
- Assist with emergency situations, including power outages, water leaks, and fire alarm responses.
- Communicate effectively with hotel management and other departments regarding maintenance issues.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous hotel, commercial building, or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
