General Purpose
Sidump’r is looking for a(n) Welder to lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using MIG or other welding equipment
- Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
- Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed
- Interpret drawings and plans; carry out work accordingly
- Produce templates (jigs) and other work aids
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using the proper tools/equipment.
- Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, caliper, tape measure and squares and levels.
- Follows the schedule established to meet production needs
- Understand the Global Software Program and accurately clock onto jobs and capture time and parts.
- All other duties as assigned for operational effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior MIG welding experience preferred
- Must be able to pass an in-house welding test
- Must be safety minded
- Attention to detail and high standard of quality is required
- Must be a team player who can work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to read blue prints/drawings
- Willingness and ability to learn and perform other jobs
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
- Continually required to stand
- Frequently required to walk
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
