Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead our Wood Stake Manufacturing facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily plant operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer demands efficiently.
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles and process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline workflows.
- Oversee quality control procedures to ensure products meet strict specifications and industry standards.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP to monitor inventory levels, production schedules, and supply chain analytics for optimal decision-making.
- Coordinate with supply chain management teams to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and delivery of finished goods.
- Drive safety initiatives by enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits, and promoting a safe work environment.
- Manage plant budgets, oversee maintenance activities, and ensure mechanical systems are operating at peak performance through strong mechanical knowledge.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing operational data, identifying bottlenecks, and leading process improvement projects.
- Supervise assembly processes within the manufacturing line, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows and support overall operations management.
Skills
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in wood or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and supply chain analytics tools.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies and process improvement strategies to maximize efficiency.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including assembly, quality control, and operations management.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination across departments and with external partners.
