Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Cook to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents by providing exceptional dietary services. The ideal candidate will have experience in dietary departments or food service environments, with a strong focus on meal preparation, food safety, and customer service. You will play a vital role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Duties
- Assist in planning and preparing nutritious menus that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
- Prepare and serve meals efficiently, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Handle food with proper safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene.
- Support the dietary department in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist with food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize waste and control costs.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure timely meal service during scheduled hours.
- Provide excellent food service to residents, guests, and staff while maintaining a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- Experience in dietary departments or food service environments such as restaurants or catering is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including meal planning, cooking, and food handling safety practices.
- Prior experience as a dietary aide or in the food industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with culinary skills such as knife skills, meal preparation, and food presentation.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
