Responsible for preparation of surgical posting sheet, including procedure, codes and instrumentation.
Utilizes current software to check medical necessity according to commercial, federal and state payor requirements.
Obtains requisite treatment authorizations from commercial, federal and state payors as required.
Posts surgical procedure with Surgical Services and communicates with patients regarding the time of surgery.
Manages daily surgical schedule for each surgeon. Provides consistent communication between physician office and Surgical Services.
Contacts equipment/ instrument representative for each case as required.
Operates the computer system, telephone and fax machine.
Follows established procedures to maintain confidentiality of all patients and practice related information.
Works collaboratively with other Health System departments as necessary.
Exhibits positive interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrates courteous and professional behavior.
Preferred

High School graduate or equivalent required. 1- 3 years secretarial experience required. Clerical experience in a medical or business office preferred.
