Intake Clerk JFK BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER Philadelphia, PA, USA (On-Site)
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Intake Clerk serves as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services; assisting clients, families, referral sources, and visitors in accessing appropriate care. This individual will facilitate the intake and registration process, verify insurance, obtain required authorizations & releases, maintain accurate electronic health records, and supports clinicians with non-clinical administrative functions. The duties include:
Professionally greet clients/visitors and answers inquiries regarding the types of services offered; in-person & via phone.
Schedule or reschedule client/clinician appointments via the electronic health record program.
Assist clients with completing forms, authorizations & releases, scan records into the electronic health record.
Complete non-clinical tasks on behalf of clients (i.e.- to obtain lab records)
Provides alternate client-focused clerical support & coverage as needed in other work units.
Prepare documents for mailings, meetings, and other correspondence.
Maintain the general order of the office, anticipate needs, and replenish supplies as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED required; associates degree or equivalent credit hours obtained preferred.
2-3 years processing patient registrations in a medical office setting; experience in the healthcare or behavioral health industries strongly preferred.
Agility in using standard computer programs (MS Office, Outlook) and multi-line phone systems.
