Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) to support the execution of commercial cladding and roofing projects. This role will work closely with the Construction Manager to coordinate all aspects of project delivery, including scheduling, subcontractor management, quality control, and site safety. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial construction, particularly with building envelope systems and is ready to take a hands-on approach to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive daily documentation
- Create and maintain photo documentation of all phases of work including pre-installation conditions, work in progress, quality issues, and completed installations
- Document all site inspections, punch list items, and corrective actions taken
- Maintain organized project files including correspondence, meeting minutes, safety documents, and warranty information
- Project Coordination and Supervision:
- Assist in the daily management, coordination, and supervision of cladding and roofing installation activities
- Support project execution to ensure completion on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards
- Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, supplies, and customers to maintain workflow and alignment
- Track project progress and document updates in NetSuite; provide timely reports to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager
- Assist with scheduling deliveries, inspections, and trade coordination to maintain project timelines
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Conduct regular site walkthroughs to verify work quality and installation compliance with plans, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines; document findings thoroughly
- Monitor job site safety and enforce company policies, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer installation requirements
- Document all safety meetings, toolbox talks, near-misses, and incidents with appropriate follow-up
- Identify and help resolve issues or delays quickly and effectively; document resolutions and lessons learned
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site environment
Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and blueprint/specification reading
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and jobsite safety practices
- Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with NetSuite, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software is a plus
- Demonstrated experience with construction documentation, reporting, and record-keeping
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with digital photography and photo management for documentation purposes
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in Construction Management, or related field or equivalent field experience
- OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Hands-on experience with fiber cement siding, ACM panels, AWP systems, specialty cladding products, or commercial roofing (shingle and TPO systems)
- Experience working on active commercial construction sites with multiple trades
- Experience with digital documentation tools, cloud-based project management platforms, and mobile reporting apps
- Understanding of construction contract administration and change order management
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired
Work Environment:
- This position requires full-time onsite presence
- Site based activity on commercial projects throughout the Raleigh market which serves East of Greensboro to Wilmington
- Requires walking, lifting, standing, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on project needs
- Travel to multiple job sites or company offices may be required

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
