Key job responsibilities:
- Greeting, engaging and communicating well with patients and their families.
- Answering telephones, taking messages and routing to appropriate staff/ providers
- Appointment scheduling (existing patients and new patients), reminders and confirmation.
- Ensuring necessary insurance authorizations, if needed, are in place prior to patient appointments.
- Checking-in and checking-out patients.
- Collecting patient co-pays, balances and deductibles, as applicable.
- Assisting with patient registration (New and Existing), including overseeing the completion of necessary paperwork and annual update forms, as applicable. Entering and updating demographic data in EMR.
- Pulling medical charts and preparing them for review by clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Faxing or mailing provider notes to referring providers to complete the referral loop.
- Scanning patient labs, orders, reports and notes into the EMR. Accurately maintaining medical records.
- Organizing and filing labs, faxes, and other correspondence received, and directing to the appropriate personnel.
- Faxing daily reports, EOBs and provider charges to Billing. Filing and maintaining these records.
- Checking mail and maintaining vendor files under direction from the practice administrator.
- Ensuring an adequate stock of office supplies and maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.
- Orienting, instructing and training other assigned personnel as applicable.
- Maintaining confidentiality in matters regarding the practice, its patients and employees.
- Performing other duties as assigned or requested.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
