We are seeking a reliable, customer-oriented Full-Time Parts Driver to join our team, support our growing commercial clientele, and assist with in-store inventory operations.
Position Overview:
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a motivated individual looking to kickstart their career in the automotive industry. As a Parts Driver, you will be the face of Radley Chevrolet to our commercial clients, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe deliveries while helping maintain an organized and efficient store environment.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Customer Service:
- Safely and efficiently transport and deliver automotive parts to commercial customers.
- Pick up customer returns and product cores, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Drop off weekly and monthly sales flyers to promote dealership offerings.
- Securely collect payments for daily credit accounts.
- Represent Radley Chevrolet with a friendly, professional attitude to build strong customer relationships.
In-Store Operations & Inventory Support:
- Pick, stage, and verify parts for upcoming customer orders.
- Assist with general stocking, including truck inventory and warehouse back-stock.
- Utilize delivery board systems and basic inventory software to track shipments.
- Maintain overall store cleanliness and organization (including showroom floors, stocking shelves, dusting, and the parking lot).
What We Are Looking For (Job Requirements)
- Communication: Ability to speak and write English effectively; strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, peers, and management.
- Technical Skills: Ability to navigate the local Fredericksburg area, utilize GPS/delivery board systems, and comfortably read documents like parts catalogs, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
- Basic Math: Competency in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) for accurate order fulfillment and account collection.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work an adaptable schedule that may include an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as business needs require.
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Licensing: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a consistently clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required, but a Plus!)
- Prior experience working with automotive parts or in a dealership environment.
- Experience with warehouse inventory management systems.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical Agility: This role is physically active. Employees will predominantly be walking or standing, and will frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb.
- Lifting Requirements: Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Environment: Work is performed primarily indoors within our parts department and inside delivery vehicles. Occasional outdoor exposure to variable weather conditions is required (e.g., when loading/unloading or helping customers with basic parts interactions like wiper blade or battery checks).
