Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service as they order coffee, beverages, and light food items.
- Operate POS systems such as Toast POS and Square POS accurately for retail sales transactions and cash handling.
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages following established recipes and food safety standards.
- Manage cashier duties including processing payments, giving change, and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, food preparation stations, and dining space to ensure health standards are met.
- Assist with food handling, basic food preparation, and serving to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness to ensure optimal quality.
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and café operations.
- Strong cashiering skills with familiarity in POS systems such as Toast POS and Square POS.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele.
- Effective time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling procedures, and proper food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment with a focus on food industry standards.
