Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor dogs during play sessions, ensuring safe interactions and proper behavior through effective dog handling and training techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment for animals.
- Observe animals closely for signs of illness or distress; communicate any concerns to management promptly.
- Engage with pet owners in a friendly manner, answering questions about their pets’ care and providing updates on their well-being.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies, crates, or animals safely without injury.
Experience
- Previous kennel or animal care experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dog handling and animal restraint techniques is essential.
- Experience in dog training, pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary assisting will be considered valuable assets.
- Strong customer service skills are important for engaging with pet owners professionally and compassionately.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods is required.
- Prior experience working in a pet daycare or kennel environment helps ensure you’re prepared for the fast-paced nature of the role.
