Position Summary
The Development & Donor Engagement Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of Susquehanna Valley United Way through donor cultivation, fundraising, workplace giving, sponsorship development, and community engagement initiatives. This position is responsible for managing donor relationships, coordinating annual campaigns and special events, overseeing donor communications and data management, and supporting strategies that strengthen philanthropic partnerships across the region.
The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about community impact. This individual must be able to work collaboratively with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community stakeholders while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Support the growth and stewardship of donor communities through customized correspondence, meeting preparation, presentation materials, reporting, and strategic follow-up.
- Solicit donations through direct outreach, workplace campaigns, presentations, and relationship-building activities that align donor interests with organizational priorities.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate and individual donor accounts, with a focus on workplace giving initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to identify and engage new and existing donors through community networks, volunteer engagement, and individual giving opportunities.
- Develop and implement innovative fundraising and donor engagement strategies involving corporations, foundations, sponsorships, Employee Resource Groups, and community partners.
- Maintain a working knowledge of donor prospects and fundraising activities through effective use of CRM systems, reporting tools, and donor tracking methods.
- Ensure timely donor recognition and acknowledgment while analyzing giving trends and opportunities to increase donor retention and revenue growth.
Campaign & Event Management
- Coordinate and manage annual direct mail and online giving campaigns from planning through execution.
- Secure corporate sponsorships for annual campaigns and special events.
- Organize and support annual community initiatives and events including Day of Action, Day of Giving, Kindness Campaign, and other special projects.
- Order, manage, and track campaign-related materials and inventory.
Data & Administrative Management
- Manage and maintain the organization’s CRM database, ensuring accurate and timely donor and account information.
- Generate reports, track fundraising progress, and analyze data to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures while promoting compliance and operational consistency.
- Provide exceptional customer and donor service by responding promptly and professionally to requests from donors, volunteers, staff, and community members.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Skills & Experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM/database systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies and motivate others toward organizational goals.
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit development, or event coordination preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work is performed in both office and community settings, including occasional outdoor environments.
- Position requires local travel and occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Special events may require extended periods of standing, as well as occasional lifting and carrying of materials and supplies.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
